HeadExplodie didn’t know what she started. Pandemic era boredom had taken hold and I was looking for something new. “How about this? It’s affordable and you can bake it at home.” The shrink-wrapped brick of clay was the color of chicken breast. How curious, I thought. It doesn’t seem to dry, leaving me to fuck off in another room to cry or make another ill-advised trip into the outside world as often as I pleased. Cigarettes through KN95s, bar seats full, rare steak, red blooded belligerence. That one time I was high on meth and punched my brother in the face. Now that felt fucking amazing. Yea, I am an asshole, now back the fuck off. Past post-modern – past post-truth, post-reality – how’s that for post-existence?

The clay remained stolid and unmoved. Whoa... did it just roll its eyes? No, it can’t be... It morphed, rolled, stretched, flattened, extruded, and smeared itself into my brain. In the night, a voice wormed into my ear... YOU SHALL BE PLASTIC, INSIDE AND OUT.
